Srinagar, Aug 25 (KNO): Bollywood actress Huma Qureshi, during her visit to the Valley, became emotional while recalling her roots in Kashmir, saying it always feels special to return to her maternal home (Nanihaal). She was speaking in Srinagar where she unveiled her book ‘Zeba: An Accidental Superhero’ during the centenary celebrations of the Indian Chamber of Commerce. As per the news agency—Kashmir News Observer (KNO), she called Kashmir her “nanihaal,” and said it always feels good to be in Srinagar. “My mother is from here and it refreshes old memories. I got very emotional because my relatives were present, cheering for me. My mother was not here and I missed her, but it is very nice to see family support in whatever you do,” she said. The actress also stressed that the Valley deserves its own film industry. “Kashmir has so many stories, cultures and folklore. It should be promoted, and we should definitely have more stories out of Kashmir,” she said, adding that rather than Bollywood supporting Kashmir, it should be “Kashmir supporting the industry.” Reflecting on her journey in cinema, Huma noted, “The truth is that it is a very difficult industry. But if you really work hard and if God’s blessings are with you, then anything is possible.” Notably, her book Zeba, launched at the event, tells the story of a female superhero who changes the world. “This book is very close to my heart,” she said—(KNO)
